Geospatial Seminar 2025: A decade of innovation and connection that brought together over 200 professionals

Last Thursday, October 23, the Ritz-Carlton Santiago Hotel witnessed a new milestone in the Chilean geospatial sector. The Geospatial Seminar 2025, which this year celebrated a decade of history, brought together more than 170 geomatics professionals interested in learning about the latest trends and developments in geospatial technology.

With ten years of history establishing itself as a benchmark in the sector, the event stood out for its robust academic program which included 3 plenary talks and 15 technical talks, presented by 19 renowned speakers. Attendees had the opportunity to delve into various specialized topics and learn firsthand about the latest innovations that are transforming the geospatial industry.

Featured presentations: international and local vision

Among the most outstanding presentations was the international plenary presentation by Riley Smith, Director of Monitoring, Mining, and Tunnels at Trimble, who presented "Data that works for you: Drive profitability and productivity with Trimble's automated geospatial monitoring solutions." His talk explored how automation and intelligent analysis of geospatial data can transform operational efficiency in large-scale projects.

Another highlight was the plenary interview with Francisca Muñoz, a Geomatics Engineer at R&Q Ingeniería, who addressed the topic "Geospatial Content Creation." Muñoz shared her experience and reflections on the relevance of digital communication to strengthen learning and collaboration among professionals in the area, highlighting how digital platforms are democratizing technical knowledge in the geospatial community.

Live technology at the Geoespacial Expo

The Geoespacial Expo, which took place concurrently with the presentations, allowed participants to interact directly with cutting-edge technological solutions through specialized stands in various areas such as Reality Capture, UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems), Geomonitoring, R&D, Technical Service, among others.

The success of this tenth edition was possible thanks to the valuable support of leading companies in the sector: Trimble, Riegl, R&Q Ingeniería, Eleccon Maquinarias, Terrex Geomática, Universidad Santiago de Chile, MAD Ingeniería, GFDAS, and Tecnoseg, whose participation was fundamental to making this outstanding event a reality.
