Military Geographic Institute receives GNSS reference station

During the last quarter of 2023, GEOCOM reaffirmed its commitment to the development of geomatics in the country by donating a GNSS Trimble NetR9 reference station to the Military Geographic Institute, which will be integrated into the National Geodetic Network to contribute to the various projects carried out by this institution throughout the country.

This contribution is the result of a joint effort between Trimble and GEOCOM, which seeks to strengthen relations and provide technology to the institution responsible for Geodesy in the country. For his part, Motaz Mostafa, Americas Sales Manager at Trimble Inc., adds: “Given that IGM is a key institution for Chile, it was an easy decision for GEOCOM to make this donation”. In the same vein, Felipe Carvajal, Application Engineer at GEOCOM, values this instance and defines it as a significant advance for the IGM's geodetic infrastructure, since the donated receiver incorporates multiple features, including multi-constellation and triple frequency.

IGM deeply appreciates this donation, recognizing the importance of innovation and technology as drivers of progress. “We are confident that this equipment will be an invaluable resource for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our geodetic work.
