Introduction
Construction projects are carried out in partially controlled environments, so it is vital to ensure the correct materialization of the design on site for the installation of prefabricated and/or modular components. Any deviation in the work causes uncertainty in later stages, specifically in the assembly stage. Currently, quality control is manual, unproductive and often depends on the worker's judgment. By means of LiDAR sensors it is possible to improve productivity in the field, capturing accurate and traceable data, improving quality control of the work and facilitating the adoption of this type of components.
The following video shows the LiDAR inspection of an elevator shaft, where the point cloud is compared with the dimensions of the elevator to be installed. Interference zones are identified to take corrective measures before the assembly execution. This is expected to avoid delays and possible cost overruns.
