Naturaleza expandida: visibilizar lo invisible

We are pleased to present the exhibition "Expanded Nature: Making the Invisible Visible," a collaborative project with Fundación Mar Adentro.

"Expanded Nature" is the product of research initiated in 2019 by Fundación Mar Adentro (FMA) with curator Carlo Rizzo in Bosque Pehuén.

This research was enhanced by the incorporation of RIEGL and GeoSLAM laser scanners, technology that allowed analytical data of the araucarias to be captured through point clouds. The Foundation published the news regarding this joint work on its website.

Following this research, four artists joined who were interested in understanding the problem of how to expand the vision in which nature is defined, archived, documented, represented, and safeguarded, developing a deeper understanding of the visible and invisible signs that occur in the interaction between it and people.

Based on the premise that nature is constantly changing and in close relation with human beings, "Expanded Nature: Making the Invisible Visible," the upcoming exhibition at the Galería de Patrimonio of Centro Cultural La Moneda, seeks to reinforce a deeper and more comprehensive definition of what we understand as natural heritage, through an installation that brings together sounds, textures, images, and stories.

Centro Cultural La Moneda will exhibit the show from October 14, 2020, which addresses natural heritage from various disciplines that ask - from science, society, and culture - how we, as human beings, relate to a diverse and constantly transforming nature.
