In this new RIEGL tip, called RiSCAN PRO – Volume Calculation, we will review the four calculation modes that make up this module. Based on 2 completed projects, one of a concentrate stock and another progress project in a mining pit, obtained with RIEGL VZ-2000i and VZ-1000 laser scanners respectively, we will review the following:
Volume Calculation Modes
- Raster: point cloud vs. reference plane
- Raster + Triangulation: point cloud vs. reference plane based on the generation of a triangulated surface
- Use of Closed Surface: surface vs. a reference plane and report by sections
- Raster (Mesh): comparison of 2 surfaces to obtain cut and fill
