Alejandro Cristian Velásquez Soto

Geomatics Engineer from USACh university, Bachelor of Engineering Sciences USACh, with a Diploma in Development Management, Faculty of Economic Sciences FEN University of Chile, DEA (Homologated to MSc.) in Terrain Engineering Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Candidate for PhD in Terrain Engineering, Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Diploma in University Management UTEM, Master in Higher Education Management, Georgetown University-European University of Madrid (IEDE) - UAB.


Postgraduate engineer with field experience, university academic, with numerous academic administration, technology transfer, institutional and career self-evaluation, and senior university management positions. Solid knowledge of the higher education and postgraduate sector. He worked as a Site Engineer on various national and international projects. He was in charge of the Technical Office and Technical Management for consulting firms such as IEG Ltda., Eagle Mapping South America and IGT Ltda. and an independent consultant supporting engineering companies such as Eagle Mapping, R&Q, Zañartu and multinationals such as Montgomery Watson and Harza (MWHGLOBAL), Eagle Engine, EagleLIF among others.


He currently works as an academic at the Faculty of Engineering UTEM, where he also held the positions of Academic Coordinator of IEG, Director of the School of Geomatics, Director of the School of Industries, Faculty Counselor and is now in his second term as Dean of said Faculty. He has been a Senior Manager at UTEM, holding positions of rectorship responsibility, and was also a postgraduate academic at PUC, professor at the Polytechnic Military Academy of the Chilean Army ACAPOMIL and PAS at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
