GENIUS Mini UAV LiDAR System is a new small-sized and lightweight LiDAR sensor (laser scanner), specially designed to be mounted on UAS equipment or Drones. It is manufactured by the Chinese company SureStar, and the integration and distribution are carried out by the Canadian company Altitude Geospatial.

This UAV LiDAR system is ultralight (weighing only 1.2 kg), highly integrated, and easy to operate (activated with a single button). It is a highly portable system that can be installed directly on DJI Drones, models Matrice 200 and Matrice 300 RTK. GENIUS comes integrated with a Trimble Applanix IMU-GNSS inertial system, which allows it to obtain high-precision results (< 10 cm).

There are two models available, 16 and 32 channels, which have the same weight and size, due to their modular design and exclusive component assembly process. The 32-channel model allows for twice the point density of the 16-channel model.

Thanks to the efficient integration carried out by Altitude Geospatial, in terms of hardware and software, it is possible to have a fast workflow in data acquisition and post-processing, resulting in highly dense point clouds, high-representativeness digital surface models (DSM and DTM), and high-resolution images.
