Professionals working in the digital construction field often encounter BIM models that contain a lot of information and consequently end up being very large, which significantly increases their transfer, processing, and visualization times. In the near future, these models will be even more detailed, which will mean a need for workstations with greater hardware capabilities and also more selective software when displaying the information available in a BIM model.

To solve this problem, Trimble has developed and implemented the TrimBIM format in several of its software solutions, with the aim of reducing the size of these models, making them more efficient to manipulate, and reducing loading and unloading times.

In addition, the TrimBIM format also efficiently maintains the attributes associated with the different geometries contained in models originating from BIM or civil design software.

While TrimBIM does not replace the IFC standard, its use will streamline your workflows in platforms such as Trimble Connect, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access, and Trimble SiteVision.
