GEOCOM celebrated its 40 years of technological innovation with a magical night at Metropolitan Santiago
An unforgettable evening brought together clients, strategic partners, and collaborators to commemorate four decades of revolutionizing the geospatial industry in Chile and Latin America.
Last Thursday, May 8, GEOCOM celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special ceremony held at Metropolitan Santiago, an event that brought together the key players who have been fundamental to our history since 1985, when founders Carlos Escudero, Gonzalo Bravo, and later Marcelo Aedo, combined the concepts of GEOdesy and COMputation to boost engineering and industrial development in Chile.

International and regional presence
The celebration featured the distinguished presence of representatives from our main global technology partners, including Johannes Riegl Jr. (President Riegl USA Inc. and RIEGL International GmbH); Todd Steiner (Americas Sales Director Trimble) and his team from Trimble Inc.; and Rubén Martínez (Regional Sales Director for Latin America SPH Engineering) from Latvia. Additionally, executives from Trimble, DJI Enterprise, and Pentax sent their greetings and congratulations through specially prepared videos for the occasion.
The regional character of the event was evident with the participation of geospatial companies from across Latin America, including Runco (Argentina), Geosystems (Peru), Geosystem Ingeniería (Colombia), Santiago e Cintra (Brazil), and Instrumental & Optica (Ecuador), reaffirming GEOCOM's position as a key player in the Latin American geospatial industry.

Recognition of clients and collaborators
During the ceremony, an emotional tribute was paid to clients who have accompanied GEOCOM throughout its journey, highlighting various categories:
Joint Trajectory: Hugo Muñoz of STG Ltda. and Cristián Costella of Costella Proyectos S.A., for their extensive professional relationship with GEOCOM.
Adoption of New Technologies: Guiñez Ingeniería Ltda. and JEJ Ingeniería S.A., for their constant implementation of innovative solutions.
Geospatial Spirit: José Luis Alcayaga of Eleccon Maquinarias and Frank Nuñez of Terrex, for their role as GEOCOM ambassadors on social networks and industry events.
Institutional Category: MOP DOP (Dirección Obras Portuarias), for their trust in our technologies for public benefit projects.
In addition, a special tribute was paid to the collaborators who have dedicated more than 25 years of their professional lives to GEOCOM: Jorge Basoalto, Héctor Contreras, Pablo Ortega, and Esteban López, key figures in the formation and development of the company.

A night full of magic and surprises
The evening included a performance by magician Ignacio de Jourdan, who captivated attendees with a show that culminated in the revelation of a time capsule, symbolizing wishes for GEOCOM's next 40 years. The event concluded with a performance by the tribute band "The Beetles," who enlivened the celebration with the most iconic hits of the legendary musicians from Liverpool.
"Today we celebrate the magic of innovation, the creation of solutions that transform realities and continue to surprise us. In these 40 years, we create the magic together," highlighted Carlos Escudero, General Manager of GEOCOM, during his speech.
