GNSS, due to its spatial observation nature, is referenced to a geocentric reference system. This does not pose any problem for working with cartographic projections such as the Transverse Mercator in any of its versions. This concept is usually understood as georeferencing. However, there are local reference systems where there is not necessarily a geodetic link.
