RiSCAN PRO - Maintenance Extension Option
Starting with RiSCAN PRO version 2.15, a new licensing scheme is introduced, allowing work under two modalities:
- SIL - single instance license system
- SNL - serial number license system
When requesting a maintenance update for your RiSCAN PRO license or acquiring a new license, you must choose one of the two options, according to the workflow in your production process.

⨭Works on Windows 10 64-Bit
RIEGL recommends using Windows 10 64-Bit for RiSCAN PRO installation. They also state that support will not be provided for older Windows versions, as they are not supported.

⨭Improved Point Cloud Handling
With the new RiSCAN PRO versions, point cloud management has been improved, allowing for projects with a large number of scans, optimizing the process, registration, multi-adjustment, and subsequent point cloud export.
This, combined with the improved Multi-Adjustment engines, using VOXEL arrangements and refining both static capture projects and the new kinematic captures, provides an increasingly robust and consistent result when registering and creating coherence among different scanning positions.

⨭New Point Cloud Filters
Identification of dynamic objects such as vehicles, people, or any element considered dynamic, and identification of clouds that are only present in a single scan, necessary to obtain the scene as filtered as possible from these elements that appear, especially in areas of high interaction, such as infrastructure and urban environments.


⨭RiPANO Tool
One of the tools presented by RIEGL is RiPANO software, which is designed for fast and easy visualization of terrestrial LiDAR projects.
It allows CAD users to easily extract orthogonal views and graphics for later use in software or to visualize directly using their browser.

⨭Kinematic Project Processing – Kinematic
One of the notable developments is the Kinematic APP, which presents a new approach for kinematic data acquisition from a static surveying equipment, by optimizing the trajectory using IMU data, RIEGL GNSS RTK, and point cloud observations.
The latest version of RiSCAN PRO static data processing software includes the necessary algorithms to optimize the trajectory through point cloud processing, and from fixed GNSS RTK position captures, high kinematic accuracies can be achieved without the need to integrate an expensive external inertial system unit.

⨭Automated Workflow
A set of tasks are presented automatically using the One-Touch Processing Wizard tool.
Highlighting the following task groups:
- Cloud filtering by reflectivity, deviation, and echoes, if required.
Automatic registration and Multi-adjustment: in this process, the various sensors of the scanner can be fully utilized, along with GNSS and the Multi-Adjustment tool. This process can be performed in the field parallel to capture on the VZ-400i, by activating On-Board Registration.
- Generation of Normals from the point cloud, improving its visualization and understanding of the entire scene.
- Camera calibration and cloud coloring: the initially established calibration for that particular installation can be improved to increase the precision of the cloud-to-pixel relationship. With this new calibration, the cloud coloring for each scan is then executed.


⨭Geotechnical Module
The Lis GeoTec module is a very important Geological tool for Geotechnical Analysis when working with point clouds, performing a structural geological classification in the measurements, obtaining stereographic projection visualization from the point cloud of the direction and dip. It allows the configuration and management of important parameters to identify, which are defined by the user.

⨭Forest Analysis Module
The RIEGL LIS TreeAnalyzer plugin for RiSCAN PRO allows the automatic extraction of various parameters such as georeferenced tree position, tree ID, diameter at breast height, tree height, crown area, or crown diameter - from RIEGL terrestrial laser scan data, for subsequent processing in corresponding third-party software packages.
