Juan Carlos Báez is the head of the geodesy group at the National Seismological Center. He holds a doctorate in Geodetic Sciences and works as a researcher in the field of geodesy and geodynamics. He has a dozen scientific articles, among which his latest publication for Nature magazine on the impact of subduction earthquakes stands out. We will talk with Juan Carlos about the challenges of geodesy in the Latin American and global context, as well as his extensive experience in the use of GNSS and how the CSN GPS Network, on which he has been working for the last decade, has contributed to the development of geodesy in Chile.
