Calle Calle Bridge

6 positions are taken around the Calle Calle Bridge. Only 1 position involves conventional topographic positioning using a free station, referring to previously established points via GNSS. The remaining instrumental positions are taken using the scan station technique.

The entire fieldwork took no more than 4 and a half hours, including general and specific scans, as well as transfers, installations, and linking to the reference system. On average, each station takes about 16 minutes. However, not only general scans are performed, but also specific captures with much higher density.

Additionally, Trimble SX10 allows for scans directly related to the object to be represented. However, the most important attribute is the total station nature of Trimble SX10.

Regarding processing, the scan registration takes approximately 15 minutes. A good level of overlap between sequential scans is required. The result of the registration is an aligned point cloud where all its elements refer to the same reference.

In terms of obtaining final products, drawing on instant plans stands out. By defining a view plane using the point cloud as reference, 2D polylines can be drawn to create a simplified representation. This aspect necessarily leads to the creation of three-dimensional models.
