    BOREHOLE DEVIATION MEASUREMENT

    The Boretrak 3 borehole deviation measurement system allows for measuring borehole deviation in any direction of the angular field. We can measure the trajectory of drilled boreholes, obtaining their inclination at intervals along the borehole.

    The Boretrak 3 incorporates an inertial measurement unit (IMU) containing a triaxial accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. The gyroscope and accelerometer are used in navigation calculation; the magnetometer is used to deduce heading and improve the IMU solution.

    The magnetometer can be enabled or disabled depending on the project.

    Sensor Combination

    Boretrak3 combines 2D compass readings to automatically establish orientation but uses the high-quality 3D gyroscope to accurately profile boreholes.

    The high-quality Boretrak3 gyroscopic sensors provide high performance and accurate measurements you can trust.

    Measure Boreholes in Any Direction

    Once in the borehole, the probe records sensor data in its internal memory. Back in the office, once the measurement is complete, the data can be viewed in the Carlson Boretrak software and subsequently exported.

    Magnetometer-corrected Azimuth

    Reduces gyroscopic azimuth drift with magnetometer corrections or disables the magnetometer when working near ferrous materials.
