GEOCOM: Technological Innovation for Mining Safety in Copiapó

Mining Challenges Seminar: Operational Excellence

On March 22 and 23, GEOCOM actively participated in the "Mining Challenges: Operational Excellence" seminar, an event organized by Grupo Periodístico Industrial in the city of Copiapó. Our presence stood out both for our institutional booth and for the keynote presentation by our Engineering Manager, Ariel Silva.

A Booth of Innovative Solutions

During the event, GEOCOM presented a comprehensive portfolio of technological solutions specifically designed for the mining sector. Our booth was a meeting point for professionals and researchers interested in the latest trends in geospatial technologies.

"Technologies that Save Lives": A Revealing Presentation

In a talk that captured the attention of all attendees, Ariel Silva delved into how geospatial technologies can transform operational safety. His presentation, titled "Technologies that Save Lives," explored the concept of geomonitoring as a fundamental tool for risk prevention.

    The Power of Geomonitoring

Silva explained that geomonitoring goes beyond simple observation: it is a methodology that converts geodetic data into predictive information. Through geometric tracking technologies, it is possible to:

    • Detect structural changes in real time
    • Generate early warnings for potential risks
    • Make critical decisions to prevent accidents

    A Revolutionary Technological Approach

The presentation highlighted how geospatial technologies answer three fundamental questions: "what," "why," and "where" to monitor. This approach allows physical structures to be transformed into digital, monitorable assets, connecting the physical and digital worlds through geodetic observation.

    Commitment to Innovation and Safety

GEOCOM's participation in this seminar reaffirms our commitment to developing cutting-edge technological solutions for the mining industry, always prioritizing people's safety.
